Additionally, each facility is supported by an in-house tool shop, where new tools are designed and produced in the New Albany, Indiana location and internationally.

Responsible to assist in the build and/or repair of all types, sizes and shapes of plastic injection molds. To assemble and test complex tools and molds in production. Reads and interprets blueprints or works from verbal or written instructions, sketches, or from the actual part to be copied or fitted. Plans the setup and operation of various tool shop tools, considering types of material, tolerances, and machine tool feeds and speeds. Heat treats and welds parts as required. Uses precision measuring and gauging tools, performing required inspections before, during, and after machining. Uses hand tools of the trade for modifications as required. Fits and assembles mold parts, tools, and dies. Sets up, runs off, and tests molds to produce a product meeting specifications, tracing die difficulties to their source and making any necessary modifications.

Primarily responsible for cost reduction by ensuring the injection molding machine is producing quality molded parts in the most efficient and economical manner possible. Assist with mold changes, color changes and material changes and perform basic maintenance functions as needed. Maintain a workable knowledge of and the ability to operate all the controls of a mold press, auxiliary equipment and robots safely and correctly. Coordinate and maintain tool repair and be involved in minor tool repair. Troubleshoot production process, maintain and adjust mold press.
